Colorado
I love you
Colorado.
God’s country.
My home for 32 years.
Vast plains, sweeping mountain ranges.
Always sunny, always opportunities calling me outside.
Skiing, hiking, fly fishing, hunting.
Fresh powder.
14ers.
Elk.
Deer.
Bears.
Mountain lions.
Deep canyon rivers.
Breathtaking views.
Blue skies.
Artsy beer.
Abandoned gold mines.
High country trains.
Green…
Money to be made.
Bristlecone Pines, Evergreens.
Marijuana.
and
Gold…
Oh there is still gold here, the miners didn’t find it all.
Although, we do have the School of Mines (not for miners)…
and we witness the riches
Every autumn when the aspens reveal their treasure.
Or
In the hands of our NBA champions the Denver Nuggets.
Or
It’s in your veins if you root for the Green & Gold (Go Rams)!
Or…
In your veins if you root for the Buffs (so that you keep reading CU fans).
In Colorado, we plan ahead for all types of weather conditions as it could be 30 degrees and snowing in the morning and 65 and sunny in the afternoon.
In Colorado, its customary to wave and wish others a great day as they pass you on the trail.
In Colorado, we are proud of our morning walks as we awaken with our giant neighbors
and
we cherish our astonishing sunsets that end another blessed day in this beautiful state.
In Colorado, we say “we needed the moisture” if it snows too much.
In Colorado we say “gorgeous day to be outside isn’t it” 350 days out of the year.
I’m grateful to live here.
I cherish Colorado.
I frequently daydream of the elevations I’ve been and the landscapes I’ve witnessed as if I was on the edge of heaven looking down on the earth.
I smile when recounting the countless tales of adventure whether it be harvesting my first bull elk on the slopes of the Eagle countryside or the vivid colors of that rainbow trout I hooked in Eleven Mile Canyon.
I fill with anticipation thinking of the campsites I’ll frequent and the crisp night air and the smoky campfires.
Colorado, I love you.
Cheers to many more memories.

MANY Spot Ons Mac. Beauty abounds, even on the prairies where mountains can't be contemplated yet.
